Reformer Foundations Class
BY CAITLIN BURNS
Let’s be honest, getting on the reformer for the first time is like getting on a spaceship and being asked to do math…in a language you’ve never spoken.
We totally understand why the reformer might feel downright intimidating, which is why we decided to add a foundations class to our schedule. The foundations class is your launch pad; it will break down everything you need to know about reformer Pilates and illuminate its magic powers. Our instructors are experts at demystifying the reformer and helping you build a profound connection to your body along the way.
We can confidently say that we have mastered the art of Pilates for beginners. There is no fancy footwork over here (although there is some wonderfully simple footwork for your movement pleasure); we keep it simple and spend a little more time in each pose so that you can get a handle on the basics and let the language of movement land on you. We understand that once you get on the machine, your mind may be buzzing with questions and in this class, we welcome and encourage them! We want you to get curious about your practice and how your body moves on this unique Pilates machine. One of the best things about joining this class is that you are joining a community of movers trying something new. At Muse, we are equal parts anatomy nerds and community lovers, so we ensure that each and every class provides you the opportunity to make a few new friends between the poses.
So, for all of our beloved reformer newbies, if you are looking for incredible Pilates in Toronto, we highly recommend you start your journey here so that we can help set you up for success. We’ll get you comfortable setting up your machine and moving your mind, body, and heart in no time. We guarantee that taking time to tune out of your day and into your body will leave you feeling revitalized, empowered and tapped into strength you didn’t even know you had.
If you have been on the hunt for Pilates near you, the search stops here. We have exactly what you’re looking for.
