TEACHER TRAINING
Our Training reflects our values and our aim to be inclusive and accessible. We study the social and historical context in which Pilates was created and modernize the practice. We look critically at how Pilates has been portrayed and what we can do to change that. Throughout the Training, we teach and discuss appropriate and sensitive language and instruction. We also look at trauma and how it affects bodies in movement. We include a mandatory work shop “Anti-Oppression for Pilates teachers and have a list of other workshops we encourage our teacher trainees to explore.
TEAM EDUCATION
We’d like to share some of the endeavors we have embarked upon to deepen our understanding in order to become better teachers and more compassionate humans.
Bi-monthly Anti-Oppression committee meeting where we look at our policies and procedures and discuss how we can achieve our goal of becoming an inclusive, diverse and accessible Pilates studio with integrity.
